

Paul Claudel lived there in 1928
Along the Loir river, about 1037, the Priory Saint Gilderic, now St. Martin's priory was founded by Solomon I. It lies outside the village on the road RECLUSAGES, where was the old outer bailey of the castle. The Lord of Lavardin entrusted the chapel to Marmoutier.
The Priory was sold as national property in 1791, it became the priory manor, now it has only a few ancient remains.
Paul Claudel's family lived in this house about 1928. The poet would have written all or part of its Conversations in Loir et Cher
